Kohli, who has been one of India’s greatest captains, has led the team to heights and made it a world-class brand. He himself has been the icon player known overseas for his looks and game.

It is pertinent to mention that it was already crystal clear that Rohit Sharma will be his successor in the T20I cricket. However, the shocking statement from the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) reported before the India tour of South Africa was saddening for many.

The statement concludes that the board would not admire having two separate captains for two formats of limited-over cricket. Hence, Kohli was sacked from ODI captaincy although he did not want to quit it. The BCCI chose Sharma as the ODI captain, and his first task as and ODI skipper will be Ind vs SA.

Kohli is yet the red-ball cricket captain and there are no talks regarding sacking him from the post.

The former limited-overs skipper is not only known for his looks, but also for his lavish lifestyle. He also appeared in the list of Forbes and in the list of athletes who were making more money during the COVID days through their Instagram.

He will now continue as an ordinary batter dedicated to his task in short formats of cricket. Notably, he was yet to win an ICC trophy and gave up the post without it. There is no opportunity left now but luckily, ICC World Test Championship is yet a chance.

Also, he took over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captaincy in 2013. Despite years of leading and dragging the red army to the playoffs, finals multiple times, he has bid farewell to the league’s captainship without a trophy. He will now continue as an ordinary player for the RCB and the new captain is yet to be named.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, who also became the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain in 2013, has won five titles being the successful IPL captain.
